Welcome to Ganak.app ("Ganak", "we", "our" or "us"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Ganak (the "Site" or "Service"), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using our Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Do Not Collect
No Account or Personal Details
We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal identification (such as name, email, phone number) to use Ganak. The calculators on our Site operate without needing personal data input beyond the figures you choose to calculate, and those inputs are not stored on our servers.
No Sensitive Personal Data
We do not knowingly collect any sensitive personal data (e.g. financial account info, health data, Aadhaar numbers, etc.). Ganak is a simple calculator platform; any numbers you input for calculation are processed locally in your browser and not sent to us.
Information We Do Collect
While we intentionally minimize data collection, some data is gathered automatically or stored for functionality:
Local Preference Data (Stored on Your Device)
For your convenience, Ganak stores certain preferences and usage data in your own browser using local storage (similar to cookies). This includes your theme preference (light or dark mode) and a list of recently used calculators. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. For example, we save your last few used calculator tools so you can quickly access them next time. These preferences help personalize your experience but are not personally identifiable and not accessible by us remotely.
Analytics Data
Ganak uses Cloudflare Web Analytics (by virtue of being hosted on Cloudflare Pages) to gather basic usage information such as page views, device type, browser type, and aggregated geographic region of visitors. Importantly, this analytics service does not use cookies or store personal identifiers. It collects anonymized, aggregate statistics (e.g., total visits, popular pages, approximate region of visitors) which help us understand how the site is used. We do not see individual IP addresses or track specific user behavior beyond general trends.
Server Logs
When you visit Ganak, our hosting platform (Cloudflare) may record basic technical information in server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, and timestamp of your request. These logs are standard for any web service and are primarily used for debugging and security. We do not actively link this information to any individual, and log data is generally auto-deleted after a short period as per Cloudflare's policies.
Communications Data
If you choose to contact us via email (for example, by clicking a "Say Hi" or "Report an error" link that opens your email client), we will receive whatever information you decide to send (such as your email address, message content, and any other contact details you include). We will use this information only to correspond with you and address your request or feedback.
How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:
To Provide and Maintain the Service
Preference data stored in your browser (theme choice, recent calculators) is used locally to provide a smoother user experience (e.g. remembering your dark mode setting or showing your recently used calculators). None of this leaves your device, so we do not process it on our side – your browser simply reads it to customize the interface for you.
Analytics and Improvements
Aggregated analytics data is used to understand overall usage patterns (for example, which calculators are most popular, or how many visitors we get per day). This helps us improve Ganak's content and performance. All analytics information is anonymized and does not identify you personally. For instance, we might use analytics to determine that a certain calculator tool is widely used, indicating we should focus on enhancing it or adding similar tools.
Communication
If you reach out to us via email, we will use your contact information to respond and resolve any issues or answer questions. We will not use your email for marketing or any purpose beyond addressing your inquiry unless expressly agreed.
Future Developments (Planned Use)
Ganak is evolving, and we may introduce new features that involve data. For example, we may offer location-based features (such as local currency or region-specific calculations) in the future. In such cases, we might request access to your approximate location with your consent, to tailor results (e.g., using local tax rates). We will always be transparent about new data collection and will update this Privacy Policy accordingly. If in the future we integrate a more detailed analytics service (such as Google Analytics) or other data collection tools, it will be to further improve our service or understand our user base, and we will ensure compliance with privacy laws and request any necessary consents.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. Since we currently collect virtually no personal data, there is little to disclose. However, we may share information in the following limited scenarios:
Service Providers
We use trusted third-party service providers to operate and maintain Ganak. Chiefly, our site is hosted by Cloudflare Pages, which provides the infrastructure for delivering the website. Cloudflare may process certain technical data (like IP addresses in logs or security cookies) to protect and serve the site. Additionally, Cloudflare Web Analytics collects aggregate usage data on our behalf (as described above). These providers are obligated to handle any data they process in compliance with applicable privacy standards and only use it for providing their services to us.
Legal Compliance
If we are required by law to disclose information (for example, through a lawful subpoena, court order, or other legal process), or to protect our rights or the safety of our users or the public, we may do so. Since we store minimal data, such scenarios are rare, but we will comply with applicable laws and only provide the minimum necessary information.
Business Transfers
If Ganak (or the assets associated with it) is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy, user information (to the limited extent we have any) could be transferred to a successor or acquiring entity. Should this happen, we will ensure the new owner is bound to respect the commitments we've made in this Privacy Policy, and we will notify users of any change in ownership or data practices.
Importantly, we do not currently share personal data for marketing or advertising purposes. We have no third-party ad trackers or social media plugins collecting your data. Should we ever consider partnerships or data sharing beyond the scope above, we will update our policies and, if required, obtain your consent.
Cookies and Local Storage
Because this topic is important, we have a separate Cookie Policy detailing how we use browser cookies and local storage. In summary, Ganak itself sets no traditional cookies for tracking or advertising. The only "cookies" or similar technologies in use are: (a) local storage on your browser for preferences (theme, recent items) which you control, and (b) possibly a few technical cookies by our hosting provider for things like load balancing or bot protection (handled by Cloudflare). Cloudflare's analytics script is cookie-free. Please refer to our Cookie Policy section for more details, including how you can control or clear these stored preferences.
Data Security
We take security seriously, even though we handle extremely limited data. We have implemented reasonable measures to protect any information that is transmitted or stored. For instance, Ganak.app is only accessible via secure HTTPS connection to prevent interception of your interactions with the site. The preference data in your browser is only accessible by the Ganak app running in your browser context, and cannot be read by other websites. Our third-party providers (like Cloudflare) employ industry-standard security practices to safeguard the infrastructure and any data on it.
However, no website is 100% secure. While we are confident that the lack of sensitive data collection greatly reduces risk, we still encourage you to use a secure network when accessing the internet. If you email us, please do not include sensitive personal information in your message for your own protection.
Data Retention
Since we do not collect personal data through the Site, we do not maintain user profiles or databases to purge. Any analytics data collected is aggregated and typically retained indefinitely in aggregate form for trend analysis (for example, total monthly visitors). This data contains no personal identifiers. Raw server logs, which might contain IP addresses, are generally retained by our hosting provider for only a short duration (often a few weeks) and for the purpose of monitoring and security. If you communicate with us via email, we may retain your message and our response for our records; you can request that we delete an email thread and we will honor such requests unless we are required to keep it for legal reasons.
Your Rights and Choices
Even though our data collection is minimal, you still have rights regarding any personal information that might relate to you:
Access and Correction
If you believe we might have any personal information about you (for example, an email you sent us), you may request details of that information and ask us to correct it if it's inaccurate.
Deletion
You can request that we delete any personal data we may have (such as correspondence). As long as we are not required by law to keep it, we will delete it. Note that data which we never collected (e.g. your calculator inputs or preferences stored only on your device) is under your control – you can clear your browser's local storage to remove that data at any time.
Opt-Out of Analytics
Since our current analytics do not identify individuals or use cookies, there is no personal data to "opt out" of in the traditional sense. If you still wish to avoid any analytics, you could use browser extensions or settings to block such scripts. If in the future we implement analytics that involve more tracking (like Google Analytics), we will provide a way for you to opt out or not be included in such tracking, in line with legal requirements.
Do Not Sell Personal Data
We do not sell your data. If you are covered by a law like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) that gives you the right to direct a business not to sell your personal information, you can rest assured we currently have nothing to sell. In the event our practices change, we will update this policy and honor any "do not sell" requests.

Children's Privacy
Ganak is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Given that we collect virtually no personal data from any user, children using the basic calculators with no provided personal info are not providing us data either. However, if you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information (for example, by sending an email), please contact us at contact@ganak.app. We will promptly delete such information from our records if we become aware of it.
International Users
Although Ganak is primarily designed for users in India, it can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This means your connection will route through servers that may not be located in your country. By using Ganak, you understand that your information (to the extremely limited extent we collect any) may be processed in countries outside of your own, including India and the United States (where Cloudflare and other service providers may have servers). These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. We always handle data as described in this Privacy Policy, and we take steps to ensure compliance with all applicable data protection regulations. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or other regions with data protection laws, note that our practice of not collecting personal data is intended to comply with regulations like GDPR by default (there is no personal data processing happening that would require a legal basis beyond perhaps legitimate interest for very basic analytics).
